WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INDONESIA RED AND LOCAL (MALAYSIA) RED?

Red Arowana varieties such as Super Red, Chili Red, and Blood Red originate from the upper Kapuas River and surrounding lakes in West Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Decades ago, Malaysia Arowana farms and hobbyists began importing these red varieties from Indonesia. Over time, some of these fish were bred locally in Malaysia, resulting in what is commonly referred to today as “Local (Malaysia) Red.”

While both share Indonesian bloodlines, local breeding programs in Malaysia have gradually developed their own characteristics and improvements through selective breeding.

WHY DO INDONESIA RED TYPES USUALLY HAVE LONGER FINS AND BIGGER TAILS?

Indonesia is the original habitat of Red Arowana varieties and naturally offers a wider diversity of bloodlines and genetics.

As a result, some Indonesia Red varieties are known for their longer fins and larger tail structures. However, the quality and development of Local (Malaysia) Red Arowanas continue to improve through ongoing selective breeding efforts.

WHAT IS MGBB?

Blue Base is one of the recognized colour bases of Malaysia Golden Arowanas. In general, Malaysia Golden Arowanas are categorized into four major colour bases:

DO YOU GUARANTEE SAFE ARRIVAL?

Yes. We take full responsibility in ensuring that every fish arrives in healthy condition.

In the rare event that a fish arrives deceased upon unboxing, we will provide a one-to-one compensation for our customers.

For verification purposes, customers are required to record an unboxing video immediately upon receiving the shipment and send it to our customer service team for assistance.

HOW LONG DOES SHIPPING TAKE?

Shipping duration usually depends on the fish size and destination.

For West Malaysia orders, delivery typically takes between 2–5 business days. Once the fish has been shipped, arrival is usually within 24 hours.

Customers will be informed in advance if any delays occur.

DO YOU SHIP TO SABAH & SARAWAK?

Unfortunately, our current shipping service is unavailable for East Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak.

For West Malaysia, a flat shipping rate of RM50 applies per shipment, regardless of the number of fish purchased.

However, due to export procedures, permits, logistics requirements, and minimum order quantities (MOQ), international exports usually require additional arrangements.

If KAWAIARO has an exclusive distributor or partner in your country, customers will be directed to communicate directly with the local representative for better service and support.

DO ALL AROWANAS COME WITH A MICROCHIP?

All Arowanas exported by KAWAIARO come with an official microchip identification in accordance with international export regulations.

For local Malaysia sales, microchip availability depends on the fish variety and size. Certain varieties and larger-sized Arowanas are equipped with official microchips, while some smaller-sized fish may not be microchipped.

Where applicable, the microchip number corresponds with the registration details provided by the relevant fisheries authority, ensuring authenticity and traceability of the fish.
