Decades ago, Malaysia Arowana farms and hobbyists began importing these red varieties from Indonesia. Over time, some of these fish were bred locally in Malaysia, resulting in what is commonly referred to today as “Local (Malaysia) Red.” While both share Indonesian bloodlines, local breeding programs in Malaysia have gradually developed their own characteristics and improvements through selective breeding.

Indonesia is the original habitat of Red Arowana varieties and naturally offers a wider diversity of bloodlines and genetics. As a result, some Indonesia Red varieties are known for their longer fins and larger tail structures. However, the quality and development of Local (Malaysia) Red Arowanas continue to improve through ongoing selective breeding efforts.

Yes. We take full responsibility in ensuring that every fish arrives in healthy condition. In the rare event that a fish arrives deceased upon unboxing, we will provide a one-to-one compensation for our customers. For verification purposes, customers are required to record an unboxing video immediately upon receiving the shipment and send it to our customer service team for assistance.

Shipping duration usually depends on the fish size and destination. For West Malaysia orders, delivery typically takes between 2–5 business days. Once the fish has been shipped, arrival is usually within 24 hours. Customers will be informed in advance if any delays occur.

Unfortunately, our current shipping service is unavailable for East Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak. For West Malaysia, a flat shipping rate of RM50 applies per shipment, regardless of the number of fish purchased.

All Arowanas exported by KAWAIARO come with an official microchip identification in accordance with international export regulations. For local Malaysia sales, microchip availability depends on the fish variety and size. Certain varieties and larger-sized Arowanas are equipped with official microchips, while some smaller-sized fish may not be microchipped. Where applicable, the microchip number corresponds with the registration details provided by the relevant fisheries authority, ensuring authenticity and traceability of the fish.
