Question: I have rental income from a house and have rental related expenses. How do I calculate income and claim this expense?
Personal Income Tax (Including Business Owners)
Answer: You can make calculations as per HK-4 (Property / Asset Details and Rental Amount) in the Form BE Guidebook to get a clean rent and this amount is transferred to the statutory rental income area. Alternatively, you can deduct that expense from the gross rent amount. Please make sure those expenses are expenditure authorized.
