Avenue Medihome Holdings Sdn Bhd
Our dedicated team is trained to put themselves in the perspective of our residents to ensure that geriatric care is given with compassion, dignity and respect at all times.
Yes, we certainly do!
We truly understand that being a full-time caregiver is one of the most loving yet physically and emotionally demanding roles a person can take on. We know there are times when you might feel "burnt out" or simply need a moment to breathe and recharge. Whether you are planning a family vacation, recovering from surgery, or just feel that you need a restful break to look after your own well-being, we are here to step in.
Think of our respite care as a safe, warm "staycation" for your loved ones. They will be cared for with the same compassion we give our own parents, allowing you the peace of mind to rest and return to them with a refreshed spirit.
Additionally, short-term stays are a wonderful, low-pressure way for potential long-term residents to "test the waters" and see if they feel comfortable and happy in our community.
What kind of activities do you provide to keep residents active?
We believe that staying active is the key to a dignified and joyful life. Our days begin with Daily Morning Exercises designed to improve circulation, mobility, and energy levels.
We focus on a balance of physical and mental stimulation, incorporating specialized hand-eye coordination activities and cognitive games that help maintain vital faculties. Beyond health, we prioritize the "heart" of our residents with social sessions, festive celebrations too.
We encourage family bonding! To ensure our residents get enough rest and can participate in their daily therapy sessions, our core visiting hours are from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. An appointment is required before your visit. Please schedule your visit at least one day in advance.
With a decade of experience, we don’t just provide medical care; we provide a home. True to our slogan, “A place where quality of life counts,” we focus on the overall well-being and happiness of our elderly residents. We treat them like our own parents, balancing professional nursing care with the warmth and compassion of a family.
Beyond clinical needs, we are dedicated to enhancing daily life and strengthening family bonding. This is why we regularly host festive events and celebrations, creating a vibrant community where families and residents can create joyful memories together. We believe that aging should be a dignified and engaging experience.
How will I be updated about my loved ones' health and daily life?
We will create a dedicated WhatsApp group for your family. Within this group, we provide regular updates on health status, vital signs, and daily care.
We also love sharing photos and videos of our residents participating in exercises or festive events so you can see their daily joy and stay connected to their lives. For any urgent matters, our nursing team will contact you immediately via phone call or through the WhatsApp group to ensure you are always informed.
How do you handle medications? Can residents keep their own medicine?
For safety and accuracy, all medications are managed and administered by our qualified nursing team. We use a strict recording system to ensure the right dose is given at the right time. Upon admission, we take over the storage and scheduling of all prescriptions to prevent any accidental double-dosing or missed doses.
How do you ensure the safety of residents, especially those with dementia?
Safety is our top priority. Our facility is equipped with 24-hour CCTV surveillance and secure entry/exit points to prevent wandering. Our staff are specifically trained in dementia care to provide a calm, safe environment, and we perform regular safety audits of all living areas to prevent falls or accidents.
Can residents choose their own meals or request special snacks?
While we provide a set, nutritionally balanced menu, we always take note of personal likes and dislikes. If a resident has a particular craving or a favorite snack, families are welcome to bring them in (if medically safe), and our kitchen team can help prepare or serve them.
What qualifications do your nurses and caregivers have?
We believe that "quality of life counts," and that starts with the people providing it. Our team consists of qualified nurses and trained caregivers who are hand-selected for both their clinical proficiency and their heart for service.
After 10 years in the industry, we have refined a holistic training approach. Beyond medical certifications, our staff are trained in the "Avenue Way"—prioritizing empathy, dignity, and communication. Through our "Career Wheel" performance system, we proactively monitor and mentor our staff, ensuring they treat every resident with the same professional precision and personal warmth they would give their own parents.
Do you offer chaperone services for hospital or clinic follow-ups?
Yes, we do!
Our staff will accompany the resident to their hospital or clinic appointments. This ensures they are safely transported, supervised throughout the visit, and that any instructions from the doctor are clearly communicated back to the home and the family.
(Note: Please contact your respective branch manager for specific transport arrangements and applicable fees.)
