The standard finish is selected primarily as an enhancement of the design itself. Finishes can either subdue or strengthen the color value of the design. Finishes can also affect the appearance of surface wear (for example, smoother finishes may show more scratches than textured ones). You can choose several finish options from Wilsonart to create the look and performance qualities you seek. Non-standard finishes usually carry an upcharge and may require additional lead time.

Yes and no. Not all designs are automatically retained when they are removed from the Standards line. Most, however, are moved into a secondary laminate line we call "Design Group II". The average length of availability in Design Group II is two to three years before discontinuation. Design Group II items are factory orders; and therefore may require a longer lead time.

No, only the 300 series of products are manufactured to postform with the aid of heat.The laminates finish, color, and/or pattern will affect the heat transfer rate throughout the laminates thickness. As an example, white laminates will reflect heat and therefore will require more heat to transfer 162°C in 25 + 5 seconds throughout the laminate thickness. Dark laminates will absorb heat and therefore will require less heat to transfer 162°C in 25 + 5 seconds throughout the laminate thickness.

Building Product Disclosure and Optimization – Sourcing of Raw Materials FSC Certification Recycled Content Certification HPL provides both of these certifications for use by the fabricators of finished products. Wilsonart supports numerous green certification initiatives by working directly with our building industry customers, such as office furniture, architectural doors, wall panels, countertops, cabinets, etc. Indoor Air Quality – Low-Emitting Materials HPL is exempt from CARB and EPA Composite Wood Rule. HPL has UL GREENGUARD Certifications as a Low-Emitting Material and is available on www.wilsonart.com/laminate-certificates. HPL may qualify for credits as an individual component in a system or part of a finished product or furniture; depending on the LEED credit approach used.

Postforming is not necessary, as heat will neither detract from nor add to the ability of the product to form. It may be cold radiused to a 3″ inside or outside minimum. Smaller radius can fracture the surface of the anodic coating of the metal. This will not reduce the anodic protective characteristics.

It is not a recommended application because of all metals are subject to scratching or marring if abused. Metallaminates should be treated with similar care as fine wood. Wilsonart Metallaminates are recommended for vertical applications only.

Laminates will fade if exposed to direct ultraviolet light, such as from an open window or external exposure. All of our colors are actually checked in a Fade-Ometer to be certain that they will maintain their normal coloration in indoor use within acceptable limits established by NEMA LD3-2000.

All Wilsonart Laminate, regardless of finish, should be treated and cared for in the same way. Wash it with a soft, clean cloth and mild soap, rinse well with water, dry, and the finish will last for a long time. A soft brush may help clean the more heavily textured finishes.

If a stubborn stain persists, the laminate can be cleaned by wiping with 409 Formula All-Purpose Cleaner, Windex, and Isopropyl Alcohol.

Marker Board Laminate can be cleaned using a dry erase marker eraser. Please clean the eraser periodically to remove dry ink residue. Should additional cleaning be required, use cleaners supplied by a dry marker manufacturer.
